What is Cross Cultural Project (CCP)?
Campus Outreach seeks to provide an opportunity to expose college students to ministry in another culture, to grow in their world vision, to grow in evangelism, and to grow in their relationship with God. This happens through partnership with other Campus Outreach ministries located in other countries as well as other international organizations we know and trust.
Students will typically spend 5-8 weeks with a local staff team in a foreign country planting seeds and reaching college students with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Students in these countries typically have very different spiritual backgrounds than our students traveling from the U.S. and many have no exposure to the Bible, church, or the gospel. This makes our partnerships with these local ministries so important and strategic. Our students develop vision for the world through study and discipleship, grow in Christ-like character, build relationships with foreign students, and share the Gospel. It is a blessing for us to be part of what God is doing in the lives of people around the world.
Our first St. Louis CCP team who served in South Africa this summer are back! We want to thank you for all who prayed and supported the staff and students! Below is a video update and a picture gallery of their time in Johannesburg.
“We have learned a lot about the different cultures here - where students are from, what languages they speak and how they grew up. We have built some great friendships and have been able to do Bible studies with many of the students here. One praise is that we originally only had access to campus for the first week of being here, but got access every single day for over 4 weeks through doing different events and through God's grace in allowing the guards to be kind and favorable towards us (the campus has a lot of security). The Johannesburg CO staff said they've never seen the guards be so kind, even to the Americans who came last year.” -Zach & Lauren Lonnemann
